Dr Faten Al-Salti

is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), where she serves as Lead for Research Ethics in the School of Health and Social Care.
With over two decades of experience in nursing education, clinical practice, and research — including work with the NHS and further-education institutions in South Yorkshire — Dr Al-Salti combines practical expertise with academic engagement.
Her teaching covers BSc, MSc and PhD levels across adult nursing, health & social care, health science and research methods. Her modules range from “Advanced science for nursing practice” to “Person-centred care,” “Researching for practice,” and “Professional leadership.”
Dr Al-Salti has led and co-led several impactful research projects addressing real-world challenges. Her work includes a funded study on cultural competency to improve inclusion of Muslim women in health and social care research, as well as national-survey research on antimicrobial stewardship in pre-registration nursing education.
She is also active in mentorship and postgraduate supervision — supporting MSc, BSc and PhD students — and plays a leading role in upholding ethical standards for research at SHU.
